I remember often sleeping over at my best friends place,we would be listening to Duran Duran anddrooling over their posters, while her father would walk around in his jocks, smoking his pipe and singing Kenny Rogers songs! Fun times.
ReplyDeletewe used to make a cubby house under the bed, and were allowed to sleep in it! having friends over for sleepovers was also when we got to stay up later and play monopoly!
ReplyDeleteI remember having sleep overs and dressing up as the Spice Girls! It was so much fun dancing around like twits - oh to be young again!
ReplyDeleteI remember always trying to stay awake until all hours of the morning but never succeeding. It was always too much fun!!!
ReplyDeletei never attended a slumber party as we lived rural. but i would love to try my hand at this quilt as it is gorgeous and would be lovely in my girls room!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog.
ReplyDeleteI remember that we watched all of the scariest movies that we were not allowed to watch at home. Therefore everyone stayed awake all night because they were afraid to go to sleep!
Slumber parties were great. Pillow fights, yummy food. Great times. Looking forward to my little boy having friend's sleep over, so we can play games and watch movies.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I just loved slumber parties - or sleepovers - when I was younger - still do!!!
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriends and I always watched 'Grease' - sang along with all the songs (into hairbrushes, of course!)....and ate lots of icecream and chips!!!
Actually, this tradition even creeped into adulthood, with a girlfriend and I catching up to do this only a couple of years ago!!! Soooo much fun!!!!!
I remember watching scary movies and eating pizza and junk food and staying up all night! Oh and the parents coming in some time during the night and yelling at everyone to go to bed!
ReplyDeleteI lived in a house full of boys so slumber parties at my place consisted of claiming a girls zone and then protecting it from brother attacks.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in the pilbara where it was always hot so we could sleep outside on the trampoline at night, most memorable was when dad forgot to turn the sprinklers off...oops.
I remember dancing around like nutters to music, talking and giggling about boys, lots of snacks and candy and having pizza and soda for dinner. Maybe a movie or two, as well.
ReplyDeleteI was usually the last one to go to sleep, too...lol
Didn't have a lot of them, but they were good times. :)
I was always the hyperactive one who kept all the others awake. I would throw sultanas get into crazy mischief all in my own house hahaha...

Late nights, movies, popcorn and pranks, lots of talk about boys, giggling = early to bed the next night!
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I had a spoonbending slumberparty at Michelle's house... We ate silly food and played sillier games... Did I mention we were 16 :D
ReplyDeleteStill hang out with those friends, and my kids now sleep over with Michelle's kids too.
I remember getting dressed up in our finest nightwear then talking all night then having a midnight feast with horrific combinations of food and drink......
ReplyDeleteScary stories under torch light, giggling girls and then girls staring wide eyed too frightened to sleep in case the shadows came out of the darkness! Good times though :)
ReplyDeleteScary movies, lots of junk food, and a game or 2 of "truth or dare" thrown in for good measure LOL!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be a nurse and love doing craft with my dar nan and remember having friends over and playing nurse with a pin cushion put a pin straight thru a friends thigh instead of the doona know wonder she wanted to go back to town funny now 25 years later
ReplyDeleteSlumber party memories, gee I have so many. Lip sinking to so many wide and varied artists, making up dance routines and performing for the parents. Playing in the freshly cut grass, sculpting animals and such. My most vivid memory is sleeping next to my best friend, who would grind her teeth! Ekk! She still does it to this today!
